TOURISM PLAN DUBAI
Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) is the main government body regulating tourism in Dubai. It plans the strategic sector direction, overviews the performance, and licensing tourism services. DTCM promotes Dubai internationally to the end of operating 20 offices worldwide. The Mission Dubai sponsors are of “strengthening Dubai’s economy by attracting tourists and inward investment.”
The vision of making Dubai the world’s leading tourism destination and commercial hub is the goal that doesn’t go unnoticed by Dubai’s success. Reaching global tourists is another vision. Dubai wants to change the image from preconceived notions and create a worthwhile experience for its Tourists of all kinds.
Several initiatives are infrastructure development, product offering enhancement, and destination marketing investments to make Dubai tourism the “First Choice” for international leisure and business travel.
Dubai tourism target is to attract 21 million -23 million visitors by 2022 and 23 Million to 25 million visitors by 2025. This would make Dubai the most visited city in the world.
DTCM wants to open Dubai to new source marketing. The strategy focuses on sustainable, digitally native and experiential tourism. Increasing new hotels and airport capacity to showcase increased margins for hoteliers and airport influx both by Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC).
Dubai is promoting itself by the most influential actors in the promotion and marketing sector, which are expanded to regional and global economic sides. Dubai is ambitious to become the most visited city in the world.
THE COVID-19 STRATEGY
Dubai Tourism is at a gradual recovery and is on the path to normalization. Every sector of tourism under the emirate clan is directly affected as tourism flow dried up. There are many key priorities that Dubai is focusing on a Policy response to the pandemic is key.
Key priorities are safety and health standards; Dubai re-opened it’s doors to the tourist by July 7th. Many regional tourism places are opened to visitors with some restrictions.
They are targeting the domestic travel market more and are trying to absorb the capacity. Many new hygiene and safety protocols are in place for the industry.
There are many new rules that Emirates has taken out for visitors from different countries that are in place for Dubai travel. Different kinds of PCR COVID tests are required. Some countries have to show 2 different covid test negative to enter Dubai. The PCR Test certificate will allow entry into the country. Also, the health declaration forms are given out. On arrival, another set of PCR Test is taken place for more safety. There are safety apps in place that are requested to download.
